Hank, I agree with you that options are meant to be sold. I never buy options except as a hedge. I often sell a combination of calls on "bad" stocks and puts on "good" stocks thus somewhat hedging market risk.

Another reason that I don't buy puts and calls is that my timing is not good. I can usually predict the long term outcome for a company but may be wrong in the short term, thus I can be right but still lose my money buying the put or call. I have learned to take positions that I am willing to wait on.
