Finally, someone other than me actually predicting the Second Civil War. I was afraid I was the only one, hehe.

My opinion, we are going to have a second civil war, and it will be in this or the next generation. Am I a right wing survivalist wacko, not really.

I am a young(26) college educated CPA, I live in Iowa, I have a wife, and will be having kids in the next couple years. I only own a couple guns, no explosives, and haven't gotten around to building my fallout shelter.

So why do I think there's going to be another civil war? Because we want one. That is we as a people, Americans. My generation has never fought in a war, and because of this, we have no fear of one. There are three main factors contributing to the next civil war, all are sociological.

The young generations do not know what war is. They do not know what responsibility is. And we want to identify ourselves.

Violent behavior is banned from modern society, but it is intregal to human interaction. How many of you boomers remember getting into fights in high school. My dad was a little (6'3" little, heh)skinny, catholic boy living in a small town in Iowa. But his best friend was a loud mouth, Allstate wrestler, and the Sheriff's son. So they had many altercations with fellows from nearby towns.

Before Woodstock, this was natural. Boys will be boys you know. As long as nobody was really hurt, no big deal. Now, you are labled a "belligerant youth", put under supervision, and possibly medicated.

The young generations do not understand responsiblity, nor do they accept consequences for thier actions. This was proven at Colombine, but has been explemlified at youth crime rate statistics over the last 20 years.

And they want to identify themselves. The boomer's talked of a new revolution in the 60's, but they wanted thiers peaceful. So they did drugs, ran naked, and protested everything that they could disagree with.

On the other hand, my generation doesn't care. It's our motto, "So what". GenYne doesn't care either. Thier parents have kept them so sheltered, that they have no idea of what lies outside suburbia. At least people my age can remember when it was normal for a 12 year old to be home alone after school, and not illegal.

So over the next two generations, we will identify ourselves. We will do it violently, and will not accept responsibility for our actions. When will the next civil war erupt and why, I don't know. Y2K could trigger it, martial law declared to stop the rioting, but this isn't very likely.

It will probably be when gun owner's rights are finally destroyed in the next dozen years. It will start small, with isolated "freeholds" of militia. But will quickly swell when truckloads of young people take up arms - just to fight. They won't even care which side they are on.

All it will take is one state seceeding, and it will have thousands of armed irregulars on its doorstep. Hell, I can see several thousand showing up to fight against/for Quebec!

Sorry about the long post, you want some good gun-owner stories, I can send you hundreds clipped from the Rifleman (NRA). Time to go shine my jack boots ;-)
