Jim,

China will eventually be forced to follow the path of Thailand.

When Thailand's market collapsed several years ago, one of the stated reasons for the severity of the collapse was the lack of property rights for foreign investors.

Basically, foreigners were taking a risk on crony capitalists and corrupt, connected business managers who could tell foreigners to screw off at any whim.

After the collapse, Thailand's gov't was replaced by more investor friendly leadership and that prohibition on foriegn ownership was revoked.

This according to Mark Mobius' in his recent book, "Passport to Profits" which I found very enlightening (just finished it). He runs the Templeton Emerging Growth funds (Templeton Dragon.. etc).

Well worth the $25 I paid for it.

Regards,

Ron
