The August JID has an article entitled "The Effects of Three Nonoxynol-9 Preparations on Vaginal Flora and Epithelium". COBs Advantage-24 is one of the three. The article is summarized by stating that all three preps were well tolerated in single doses, however long term use by all three was not recommended due to increased levels of detrimental vaginal flora which could possibly lead to urinary tract infections.
