*******OT, but perhaps a bit of much needed comic relief

Some SI users may have tried the Multex Service to check out SONE. I did a while ago and found that their info was a bit off. This led to the following exchange. I hope y'all enjoy it . . .

"Folks,

As a Silicon Investor member and holder of EDFY -- which is to be acquired by SONE -- I thought I'd check out your info on SONE.

Well, I don't trust it. In your free reports, you list comparables that are medical technology companies. You guys don't even know what industry the company is in! Wake up! SONE is a software and data services company.

GEEZ!! I guess you get what you pay for . . .

Please Torture and Fire the Analyst Responsible."

The response from Multex:

"Thank you for bringing the incorrect segment, (peer group), for SONE to our attention. The analyst objected strenuosly (sic) to being tortured and fired, however he was very happy to rectify his error. The correction was made on July 16th and began appearing in the Multex Reports July 17th and after.

If you have any other questions or concerns about the Multex Reports, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Ted J. Boulanger
Director of Quality Assurance
Multex Data Group"

So I replied:

"Ted,

The analyst responsible objected to being tortured and fired, eh? Judging from the Cc, maybe there are two of them. Whatever, I'll leave your disciplinary matters to you. I'm not the deepest sleuth at Due Diligence, but an error of that magnitude isn't going to affect me, since I use other sources as any sensible investor would. Nevertheless, I think your analysts should be tested more often. I'll let you folks test their body chemistry. Following is a test for the mind of the analyst responsible (choose the best answer):

RSA Security Dynamics is

1) a prison REIT
2) a medical device company
3) an investment bank
4) a software company
5) a home protection service
6) a new psychotherapeutic technique
for the treatment of nervous equity
analysts

Let me know which number is picked and how the lab tests turn out. So far I am happy with other aspects of the Multex service. Thanks for responding, and I hope you're having fun."

They don't appear to be great spellers, either. If anyone is interested in Multex' next response, if any, I'll be happy to share it.

Cheers, Tuck
