No. But nor do I want a society of nattering nabobs of negativism (boy, does that date me!) whose passion is to try to overcome every good thought we have ever had about ourselves or try to cover every good deed that our country has ever done under a blanket of abnegation.

I also oppose the idea that we should judge our ancestors by the moral standards of today. There were a lot of honest, decent people in the past who would be in jail today for doing what was right and appropriate and moral in their time.
