Kap,

From the Jc-news link:

c't also had a complete SPEC test for K7-600 and P-III-600 broken down by all the parts of SPECint and SPECfp. Here are bottom lines:

'estimated' K7-600....P-III-600....Xeon-III-550
SPECint95base 27.1.....24.8....24.2
SPECfp95base 21.5....14.8....14.8

They did everything according to the rules, but didn't submit and get approval from SPEC so they are officially 'estimated' values. The Xeon only had 512k cache. c't has a SPEC license. God I love that mag! "

Perhaps elmer is going to whine again about the SPEC numbers.
Looks like a 50% advantage to Athlon over PIII in fpu.

These appear to be even better performance than AMD promised at Dirks presentation.

As I just came back from vacation- I see little has changed. The benchmarks are a tad more encouraging. But no parts or boards or systems.

Like a few other folks here Scumbria, Pravin etc AMD is by far my largest stock holding after my latest purchase.

I hope like hell the announcement and run up happen next week.

Good luck to the longs.

Regards,

Kash
