Jeff, I pretty much decided to stick with RAIN and INTC as far as stocks go, with gold, international, software and smallcap mutual funds for ballast.Decided yesterday to get rid of a minor position in OAKT,too much uncertainty there and too many big fish in the water.Keeping about 35% in cash for post "correction" bargain hunting. If I can find others like RAIN and INTC that I'm willing to weather the storm with fine (maybe HWP) but I'm not going to hold on to any losers if I smell even one cockroach around. The market is just to weird for that.If I miss a rebound too bad, Re:Fishing trips I know what you mean. This will be my first week-long excursion since my daughter was born.Going to go back in August with her too but her current fear of bugs and boats might make it a long week . Went to the preview at Rainforest today. What a great place! The ambience flashed me back to Mexico which I've visited often. The place transports you to its world very effectively. The food is excellent and varied. The simulated check for dinner for four was $70 with tax but sans drinks(unavailable till the opening)Service was fast and friendly. The management was willing to answer my questions about the company.Only those locations mentioned are opening by the end of '97.Management feels they can open 5 to 7 a year without spreading themselves too thin.Mills is very enthusiastic about Rainforest but nothing's in writing about all Mills location. There are negotiations with Europe and Mexico but no contract as of yet.I also talked to lots of people that work in the mall ,many who previewed the Cafe Wedsday.Everyboby really likes this place and the food. Not one pan.The rumor about 37 restaurants did get around and I believe may refer to the strictly mushroom bar Rainforests together with the full restaurants. But I didn't discuss those with management.Almost all of the stores at the mall are outlets.
Ladenburg,Thalman&Co were part of a group managed by Montgomery Securities than underwrote the second offering of 2,000,000 shares in January of this year.I think the underwriters and whoever woulld like to see the split adjusted price at 25 to 30 when the Disney Rainforest opens on July 22th.Just one man's theory A nice family price.
Finally the retail section wasn't open but you could see the products and they looked sharp.
I'm going to buy more tomorrow if I catch the market
Downside: According to a mall guard, one person apparently had an allergic reaction to the mist.Whether the diagnosis was his own or a paramedic's is unclear.
