I use to work for a small company (not much larger than EDIG) that manufactured a $350,000 prototype just to have something to show the potential buyers at shows. Management believed that the high prices paid for the one and two piece orders for component parts would pay off in the long term. They had confidence in their product. So, they were willing to invest that $350,000. We didn't know where our next pay checks would come from, but we supported management's decision totally.

If they had shown their prototype in a big black box, they would not have had much success getting orders or even getting anybody to come to their booth at the shows.

A few different prototype designs (not black boxes) of a portable digital player would not cost EDIG/LU very much money. So, I get a little irritated every time I read about EDIG's little black box.
