The best place to start is at the CBOE options site cboe.com and check out index and equity strategies. The site really is one of the best of the WEB when it comes to options and leaps. Lots of software videos and literature available to boot.

Here is a direct link discussing straddles. As you read about it also consider that you don't have to utilize the same strike price for the puts and options.

Also, if you don't have any strategy books on options/leaps then go over to AMAZON and search for the book LEAPS by Harrison Roth. It has many examples and strategies. Best of all, it is understandable. It can help get one up to speed quickly. Finally, if business radio stations are in your area pay attention. There are always people out there giving free seminars on option strategies and investing in general. The CBOE also puts on free Option and Leap seminars in various cities from time to time.
