I agree... it is quite puzzling.

On May 11, 1999, Mary Meeker (celebrated analyst from Morgan Stanley) apparently upgraded AOL to a STRONG BUY... AOL closed the day at about $140... now AOL is at the $89 level less than 3 months later.

Now, along comes Canelo from Morgan Stanley... says "crazy Internets"... and Internet sector is like the biotech bust several years ago.

What are the analysts at Morgan Stanley encouraging people to do?

BUY HIGH

SELL LOW

Not only that... these analysts are creating more volatility in the market than there needs to be... pumping up their favorites when they are going up and talking stocks down after stocks have already fallen a bunch. No wonder day traders exist.
