I went to the Pentagon City Best Buy store tonight. They had lowered the price of the Presario 2100 to $949, and had six units in stock. The last time I dropped by the salesman told me they had received 15 units, of which only 3 were left in stock. This means they received another shipment. I think this is quite encouraging. It means Compaq is going to keep selling the 2100. The unit was playing a commercial (sound only, the screen was blanked). The sound was excellent, I had not heard it before. Will the potential Apple buyout affect Cyrix's stock price? Cyrix is currently an incredible bargain for any large PC producer, and people looking at Apple may start to think.
