Howard--I am truly confused on just what is going on with the study.
If further results are pending I would not give that particular article even a minute chance of publication in The New England Journal of Medicine. They have extremely demanding standards, only a small handful of journals carry their impact and none in the medical field. If they feel the results are still pending or the study incomplete, it has no chance of publication. They do like publishing ground breaking studies but the science has to be utterly solid.
I am curious as to what is going on.
