Thanks again for sharing your wealth of knowledge. As long as I've been in the markets, most of the technicalities of the actual mechanics have been transparent to me -- which I guess is the way it's ideally supposed to be for the retail customer. I'm wondering what the trigger point is for the Big Board to decide a specialist isn't performing up to obligations.

Isn't there also an automated system on the NYSE to match orders of 2k shares or less (or is that only for market orders), leaving the specialist free to fry the bigger fish?

Anybody have any general ideas as to when this market is going to find its legs again?
