<i'm in cscc because it's fundamentally undervalued in the fastest growing market segment. but as long we're speculating...what about intc..

intc has agressiveky entered the NIC market challenging coms. they did it to "siliconize" networking...to make networking solutions more dependent on upgraded IC's..why wouldn't this work for ATM, frame relay, big switches etc.>

i may b transgressing netiquette, but i ve to agree with Bob by saying "me too" in terms of longing CSCC, valuewise and growthwise (kinda strange to put the 2 'wises' together :-))

In case SuperSonic has not heard, IBM has just come out with a slew of high end router gears aiming for CSCO's backyard. CSCO attempted to retaliate with SNA connectivity, but according to a network analyst (read in either LanTimes or InfoWorld, but forgot name,) the latter has not moved as fast as the former this time. Again, there is no information regarding IBM's acquisition ambition, but the purchase of Lotus has heralded in the new IBM. Like Bob, for giggle, INTC is another player. Although, INTC just bought stakes in MRVC and XIRC (it has stakes in others, but these two are networking related,) suggesting its style of operation. Ultimately, this is all academic. Unless there is solid reasons or immanent takeover, personally, i would not want to base my investment decisions (already bad and clueless as they are now, which got me into a lot of hot water) on vague takeover rumor.

regards

Bosco
