Am I correct that this whole mess didn't surface until yesterday?

If so, did that Jakarta newspaper specifically mention Bre-x in the same article as "criminal doings" and were there any other company names mentioned?

You may have a case of someone knowing about this before it came public.
I think you realize how this could tend to bias things.

All said, regardless of the fact that I do not deal in Gold stocks nor Canadian stocks,
it seems to me that if there is a chance that this will come out as better than it initially looks the stock may be a great bargain at this price - at least something to weigh some odds on. I did however notice that when they showed the CEO on CNBC this evening I didn't like the way he handled himself.
