CCR -

I hope you don't mind responding to a post here on the 'working man's' Q thread!!

Also I actually agree with Ramsey Su about keeping the 'high brow' Q thread clear of anything but concentrated tech, market or financial info directly related to the Q. He's trying hard and we should all support him.

This is August in addition to being in the after earnings season 6 week doldrum period. We had this 6 week slump after every earnings season this year. In addition becuase of its annual August summer holiday slump there are always comments on the threads about market crashes, sky high P/E's and so forth. The reality is that it is just August again and August is one of the most unpleasant months for most investors.

We had a big slump last August which lasted into September. It might have ended after the 6 week post earnings doldrums but for the debt crisis and that LTMCA business.

Anyway its August and the reality is that the best thing to do is to go into August 100% in cash. Now that is almost impossible to do unless you have an iron discipline which I don't most also don't I guess. Anyway there is Limtex third law:-

Never buy stocks in August.

The Naz will tank approx. 1% a day for the next 6 weeks. There will be a few up days which will look like bottoms. They will be false dawns.

Then around the 14th September slowly in that week but picking up steam the NAZ will start to gain and it will carry on gaining until about 7th - 9th October and then down it will go again until just after the first week of January.

It seems to me that there are now a considerable number of people who only hold stocks for these short up-periods and at other times they are out of the market and not exposed to risk at all.

Best regards,

L
