Thanks Richard- I appreciate the welcome.
Actually if you look at my profile here on SI it tells you a little about my background.
I've been trading for most of my life and did so professionally for a number of years. This Included running a commodity trading fund for a the company at the time. I retired from professionally trading to pursue starting my own company which has worked out better than we ever dreamed.
I still actively trade the markets and do as part of a consortium I have formed with some former large clients who specialize in bridge financing and do venture capital investing.

They rely on my expertise as a source for assisting them in some of there short selling investments when it comes to stocks.

I find stocks which determine are presently overvalued with high PE's that are good short candidates.Besides stocks ,I also trade S&P's and Bonds as this was my main focus during my professional trading days.

I came across this stock quite by accident while speaking with some old contacts I still maintain in the investment world .

There were rumblings that several companies might be looking at this company as a potential takeover target. Rumors are a dime a dozen but I kept a passive eye on the stock and it's latest run up certianly caught my interest.

I understood that talk of this type has been going on before this in relation to the company with nothing ever really coming out if it.
After following it for some time, I felt thatbased on the latest price activity, there was enough smoke to possibly be a fire brewing.

I felt that the rumors of a possible buyout may actually not be far fetched and todays announcment surely paves the way to that being a pretty good possibility now.

I have been waiting for some time to see if some small news may be comming out hinting of such an event occurring.

Today was a good start. My partners feel pretty good about it as well.
They felt todays announcemnt is the type of thing a company does to properly get the ball rolling if a sale is in the works.

Time will tell

You knowledge of the internal works and the product this company provided are well ahead of me. I did find in my research though that they seem to have a very interesting company.

Some of the analysis that I have seen from some sources following this sector seem to feel the company potentially could be a $14.00 to $20.00 company. At the $5.00 level it seemed like a good gamble. This is the general area we purchased the company.

After today's announcement I feel pretty excited about the prospects.

Could have a real potential flyer on our hands. Worst case, at least I don't think that old $2.00 to $3.00 range is going to be seen again- but then - you never know..

Can you fill me in a little as what you like about the company in your view?

One last thing:

You know of a company called Somotogen - were in the synthetic blood substitute business? Made quite a nice sum on that stock once and lately heard Lilly pulled the plug on them. Just curious!
