Porosity actually refers to the amount of space in the rock available to hold fluids (including oil. Usually between 10 and 30%. Weight, I imagine is a tortuous reference to the gravity of the oil. The higher the number the better the grade and quality. 10 API (Gravity measurement) is bad 45 is excellent! Light oil (good quality) usually between 30 and 45 API. O hope that helps oilfinder
