If it does work then it seems like someone could write a program which would go back and look at all the past history of all stocks and find patterns like "head and shoulders" and predict what will happen and then test the prediction against actual history making a running total of the accuracy of the predictions. Then all the TA guys could compare their accuracy indexes and put it on their websites. Then we'd see if they beat a monkey with darts.
