Well, after SR's untimely end at the hands of Stalin and Felix Dejinsky, MI6 sort of went to the dogs. The communist moles infiltrated, Kim Philby being the best known mole of that time. MI6 was known as a sieve for information. It strained it as it passed through to the Russians. I'm afraid that after Sidney the western intelligence community was always finishing second to the Russian's. Our secret nuclear program was never a secret from Stalin.
