$2000 for an STB? Does it clean your house and do the dishes and service you during your digital TV viewing as well? Or is it combined with a replay feature that might justify that price? Here's a dumb question, why does an HDTV need a STB anyway? Don't the TVs have decoding capabilities? Why not? Is it because the TVs are designed to be flexible and accept any standard signal and it's up to the STB to handle any varying signal formats?
