Hope you are feeling better now. I went to Geico this morning to get a "yellow card," proof of insurance for Canada, my husband called GEICO last night and the lady said to go to the Falls Church office. So I got there and the lady there said it's a claims office, they can't give me a form. So they told me to call on the red phone, and I sat on hold for about half an hour, reading their USA Today, and finally got a live person who said they could fax a form to my office. So I wasted the time driving there and waiting and driving home, maybe an hour and a half, and I was irritated, but they were nice so I was nice, too.
A couple of blocks west of the GEICO office, I saw in the distance that the entire three lanes of east-bound Leesburg Pike were blocked by police cars, and that a major traffic jam was piling up. When I got closer, I saw it was a five car fender-bender chain reaction cluster-fuck, nothing major, and was wondering why so many people were standing around, some gesticulating, and then as I passed I saw the car upside down in the intersection, lying flat on its roof, with the roof and windshield crashed in. As I sailed past, my AC blasting out cold air, my radio playing loud music, I thought to myself, well, maybe I wasn't so unlucky today.
And as I contemplated the fire truck and EMT trucks approaching from all directions, I noticed that I had walked off with GEICO's USA Today, but there was no chance in hell I was gonna bring it back. |
