Could be...the problem is that there is reason to make it public policy to ban discrimination on racial grounds, given the pernicious and systemic effects, but there is little reason to do so on behalf of gays. First, it is a behavior, not pigmentation. Second,it is at least arguably immoral behavior, and therefore there should be a right of conscience to not condone it. Third, there is no evidence that gays suffer the systematic effects of discrimination: they are an unusually well educated and affluent group. Fourth, since the causation of the propensity is uncertain, and assertions that it is purely genetic are dubious, it is natural for parents to wish to insulate their children from influences that might make it more attractive, or that might engage in seduction. Thus, the effort to normalize homosexuality should not be on the same footing as integration.....
