Gao- No problem. I think( if I am following you correctly) that it still remains, even if we use the noun form. IMO, the opposite of love is hate. Fear may be even a greater definiton because IMO most of the time hatred stems from fear. Even if you love an idol, the opposite would be to hate it or fear it. If we are talking about the verb, the opposite of idolizing something would be hating it or holding it in contempt. Mark
