hey, to get it back on topic...

did you read about the free imacs being given away?

a company named freemac inc. from santa monica plans to give away 1 million imacs. in exchange consumers must sign up for 3 years of inet service with earthlink network inc. at $19.95 per month. the press release i read in yesterday's sf chronicle said that consumers who want to get one of the first 10k free machines, scheduled to be distributed in oct and nov can register their email address at:

freemac.com

i tried to link to the chronicle article, but yesterday's online edition did not have the 'business digest' column that this appeared in.

i gave 'em my email address. looks like they merely notify you the day before they tell the rest of the freeworld how to get one. whoopee. <g3> but i'm curious.

went to the big apple, took a bite...

:)
