True enough, but what fun to go into the Tiger's lair and teach him to walk nicely alongside while we go hunting. Brains and strength is a very good combination. Sure, he'll eat a lot on the hunt, but we'll keep the good cuts for ourselves.
Irwin's gang gets awards from Al Gore and Clinton's team the "Medal for Technology". Q! is at the centre of being defended against Russia [remember Richard Bliss], Europe [remember Charlene Barshefsky facing down the SETI European mob], China [WTO and access for CDMA - a shame Clinton's bombing included the Chinese embassy - but a bit more training and we should have him doing it better]. Q! has patents, has sold licences to all comers. Has USA legal, military and trade systems to defend their patents. Q! is working on Condor, which is partly great systems for the USA security effort. Irwin and Qualcomm are admired by all [apart from Bill Frezza, who should be flogged from dawn to dusk forever and trampled by 10000 camels and fed to hagfish].
$ill Gates on the other hand, is vilified by many [unfairly and absurdly] and is being prosecuted by Janet Reno and Clinton's gang as well as the judicial system. I guess when $ill and Bill played golf and $ill found Bill superficial and 'doesn't drill down', Bill figured he'd show $ill who was boss around town. Or maybe $ill beat Bill at golf. Or didn't donate to the re-election fund. Or something.
Anyway, Irwin is everybody's hero and $ill is not. Yet anyway. After $ill has cured cancer and a lot more besides, they might start to understand that he isn't just trying to get money, which is what the more simplistic moaners seem to think.
Irwin and Co have got a powerful, patented and accelerating CDMA technology, with people as smart as but more socially integrated than $ill's crowd, defended by the right political system. $ill's crowd depends on an ad hoc 'standard' with competitors looming in all directions [contrary to the absurd anti-monopoly prosecution]. He has got big bags of financial power, plenty of software expertise, powerful marketing. But nothing compared with Mighty Q!
Wireless Knowledge is Mighty Q! and The Tiger. Not a bad combination.
