Chucky, I don't remember a blowout quarter for LLTC, but in November of 1995 MXIM reported Q1-96 EPS of $0.64 vs expectations of $0.48 (that would be $0.16 vs $0.12 after accounting for splits). That is a 33% upside surprise. The stock took a beating at the time, however, because analysts were so far off in their numbers and they had to blame someone (certainly not themselves). Looking back, they created a hell of a buying opportunity! This was around the same time that Jack Gifford appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box and was bullied by the crew there.
