Hm. All I can say is that I hope the bulls put up a fight this time. gg. I can't go along with this scenario yet. I don't think Y2K is going to be that bad. But I have to admit that some of the tinkering on the GVT side, including Greenspans obsession with inflation, is worrisome. But when I heard very early this morning a report about this phone call between Summers and Japan, it made me wonder. The reporter said that Rubin would not have found himself in a position like that. It blew over I think. And now we want to buy bonds back? All in the name of heading off a nice tax cut? I will have to check this out tomorrow. Hope it's not just a gimmick. Something our President always accuses the other side of.

Yes Gold and Oil were up again today. One thing that could mess this thing up IMO is everybody purchasing things ahead of time in fear of Y2K and causing an uptick in inflation. Your bear scenario analysts and economists are turning every little data over sev. times to look for the tiniest little things to hang their hats on.

But I believe we are taking a little breather here and then go on.

I'd better get off here.
