Phone price, lack of big brands, spotty coverage. Samsung and Hyundai aren't really mobile phone brands - N, M and E are. Nobody's more status-conscious than consumers in the Asian megalopolises. The Chinese pictogram entry software in text messages is really good in the new Motorola and Nokia models. I don't understand why Sony and other major Japanese brands are not aggressive in pushing 90-gram CDMA phones for export markets. But Motorola and Nokia are very aggressive in advertizing their GSM mini-phones as the ultimate vanity gadget.
