Hewlett Packard Division Selects AppNet as EDI Outsourcing Partner

BETHESDA, MD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 5, 1999--

New Contract Enhances E-Business Programs to Improve Customer Service

AppNet (Nasdaq: APNT), the premier provider of end-to-end e-business solutions, today announced that Hewlett Packard's Integrated Business Solutions Group (IBS), an IT department supporting PC, Supplies, and Hardcopy, has signed an electronic data interchange (EDI) outsourcing contract with the company. Through this new relationship, AppNet will enable Hewlett Packard IBS to expand their strategic EDI program by managing the process by which IBS exchanges electronic business documents with their business partners.

AppNet's EDI implementation will transition IBS from their current 16 hour, five-days a week program to a robust 24 hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week operation. AppNet will provide a comprehensive EDI implementation and monitoring program that will streamline the resolution of EDI errors between Hewlett Packard and their business partners.

"We chose AppNet because of their proven track record over the course of our four plus year relationship," said Ted Morris, manager of development and business support at Hewlett Packard IBS. "It was a logical extension of our current relationship."

"AppNet helps companies transform their relationships with their customers and business partners," said Toby Tobacowalla, senior vice president of AppNet. "This expanded relationship between Hewlett Packard and AppNet will enable HP IBS to work smarter and faster so they can maximize customer satisfaction."

AppNet (Nasdaq: APNT) is the premier provider of end-to-end e-business solutions. AppNet doesn't over emphasize any one e-business discipline, but understands that interactive marketing is just as important as back-office integration. AppNet combines strategic consulting, interactive media services, application development, back office systems integration, and e-commerce hosting and outsourcing into powerful e-business solutions for Fortune 1000 companies. Customers include Baxter Healthcare, Dial, Ford, Hyundai, K*B Toys, NEC, and Unilever. Find more information about AppNet at appnet.com.
