With a speacialist on the NYSE - you don't have to deal with that kind of manipulation - It is a superior trading enviroment and that is why you see so many companies moving over. It doesn't matter as much with companies like INTC which have a billion figure float but smaller companies like VANS get whipsawed around by these market makers out to make a buck. Just the other day another company I follow Cliffs Drilling filed to list on the Big Board citing a need for less volitility and more efficient trading. ( that stock frequently has a two dollar spread ) Take five minutes and write him a letter !!!! On a side note I think mgmt is close to taking this action and others to improve shareholder value - Mgmt owns quite a bit of stock and are as interested as you and i in getting the stock to its appropriate level. With the visibility given in the recent conference call this qtr is already off to a great start - Keep the faith!!!!
