IMHO, the best thing for AOL to do is to set aside the ego and work with MSFT. Some might find the notion repugnant, but what alternatives does AOL have. AOL: "So Microsoft, you're trying to access our Instant Messenger? Well screw you!" MSFT: "Screw me? No! Screw you! We're gonna give away your commodity product and cut off your air supply!" AOL: "Shit."
