I agree with that article as far as it goes. It is important for us as voters to realize that both parties are demagoging the surplus. The Republicans want to buy votes with tax cuts. The Democrats want to buy votes with new entitlements (the prescription program is one example). Neither party is doing the responsible thing and paying down debt. In the long run that is the best thing they could do for us and our children. However I don't thing any of us actually expects either party to do the responsible thing.
