From Korean Newspaper, Joong-ang of Jun 1, 1996: Samsung Semiconductor is starting summer vacation early to reduce work week. They will pay a 50% vacation bonus to employees. LG (Lucky Goldstar) will pay 100% vacation bonus for 4-6 days in June and August. Hyundai Electronics will pay 100% vacation bonus for 9 days (up from 7). Daewoo ...... (same as LG) other companies..... Note: 1. The vacation bonus is stated as a percentage of previous vacation bonus. i.e. 50% means the vacation bonus will be half as previously planned. 2. Work reductions are being planned across the board.
