Jeff, if we assume that ATML is a proxy for the semi industry (xico vs. SOX would be interesting), then it looks like this chart is saying that during the last semi up cycle (93-96), xico under performed initially and then outperformed at the end of the cycle. It looks like the same pattern is developing in this cycle.

I also think your chart points out the importance of watching the industry, because if the industry starts heading down, this chart would imply that xico goes down also, but maybe a slower rate. I don't take much comfort in knowing I am going to lose less than the average stock. If this industry turns down, I am gone.
