Many think Bre-X is no dud! On a CBC Business World Thursday Night, March 27, I saw an interview with Arequipa's President. The lady stated before Barrick made an offer to Arequipa to purchase the company, they went through the company with a fine-tooth comb. They did so many gold checks and double-checks she thought they were paranoid.

Surely Barrick Gold, before they offered $billions for a large slice of Bre-X Busang Claim, they must have done the same thing, sending a team of geologists and other experts to check and double-check for gold in representative samples of core with a magnifying glass. And the same would apply to Placer Dome when they made their offer. I didn't hear any adverse comment from either! How can this be checked out?

Didn't Bre-X also send some of their core samples to be double-checked in a Canadian lab.? If so, what were the results?

How many grams/ton does one need in a core sample to actually see visible traces of gold? Someone said, "no expert", 10 grams/ton. Bre-X has 15 geologists on the claim, over 400 local staff and workers, and 7 drill rigs, I believe over 100 miles of core. There had to be numerous occasions over 2-3 year period when geologists were excited from the visible gold in core samples which would have indicated high gold readings to be coming in later from the lab.
