If the WSJ's piece on Microsoft accurately reflects the company's intention regarding free net services, my take is that Microsoft suspects by now that the feds will break it into little pieces (remember ATT in '84?). So right know, Microsoft does not care how it is perceived anymore, either in public or in the eyes of the government, let alone Judge Jackson.
As a practicing attorney, I can attest that if you suspect that you are about to win a case, you keep your mouth shut! If the odds are going against you, you scream, shout, and pound on the table.

After, and if this scenario plays out (Microsoft is broken into pieces), AOL will reign as the only major player in the internet, along with YHOO.
