Insider purchase by Dr. JMAR. A form 4 was filed yesterday by John S. Martinez which reports that he bought 10,000 shares last month (it says the purchases were on July 12th at $1.80 and $1.81). I noticed it today while looking at some of JMAR's filings with the SEC in checking out a recent chat message. (I am signed up to FreeEdgar for a number of companies, but for some reason I didn't get the usual FreeEdgar email notice of this filing like I have in the past. Maybe there is a delay in getting the FreeEdgar notice since the filing was just yesterday.) For now, you can see it in the SEC's website- EDGAR filings for JMAR. Look for the Form 4.

Based on his stock ownership, at least this is one insider purchase that doesn't appear to have been mandated by a minimum corporate ownership policy. Maybe it's not a huge purchase, but I think a good sign.

In going back through the SI posts from last month on the insider buying in June (which appeared to be prompted by the company's stock ownership policy), it is interesting that this purchase by Dr. JMAR (on July 12th) preceded all of the discussion here on the June insider buys which were first reported here around July 16th. So it at least doesn't appear to be in direct response to the criticisms leveled last month on these pages. I would like to see more buying from others, however, not just the guy who happens to be JMAR's largest individual shareholder. But then again, if your portfolio had as many shares as Dr. JMAR's, would you be loading up on more shares unless you had reason to believe it was a good investment?
