Rockefeller Republicans are moderates, often considered liberal by "Goldwaterites", although somewhat unfairly, and at best they fit into the category of fiscal conservatives that I mentioned....

No one is completely original, and coherent premises yield pretty predictable results. Anyway, it is not a question of comfort, but of trying to be fairly honest. For those who know what the moniker indicates, I am saying that I am an ex- leftist who largely voted for Reagan on defense grounds; that I embraced capitalism as the best means of achieving broad economic prosperity; that I am concerned with the decline of the West; and that I am an enemy of the Buchananites... |
