Panama do try it will be worth the effort. Poems do not
need to rhyme. I appreciate your taking the time to figure
out what it is saying. Believe me it is not arbitrary.
Many lines do refer to specific anatomical features of a
person but other stanzas are quite general. Thomas
picked one out. Of course it does not help in making some
identifications that I made mistakes in writing the poem.
The reason why it took me time to post it is because I was
getting parts from different pieces of paper. Here are a few
of the pieces that refer to anatomy just in case this will
help:

stirring cool feathery coals
Twisted and pinched pale lemon melting on down
Pink embittered cratered moons
Cracked porcelain
burn auburn reeds...straight stalks lined along...one now needs
and so on...
Note that I include these because there are mistakes as originally posted.

Later on the poem gets more reflective.
Panama I have often had contradictory feelings as to how much
of myself I should put forward in any given situation.
Often I think why bother? But then you would not have read
it. That you took the time I do appreciate red.

It is also true though that Thomas understands
more than he allows himself to express so I wanted to
post something that he could recognize as poetry.

In my own case, I do not necessarily prefer contained
poems so much as letting poems infiltrate longer pieces.
Unfortunately, I have been quite busy these days and
have not been able to devote as much time to writing as
I would like.
