Ratan: I was horrified to hear about the involuntary labor extracted from Sindh Hindus by pakistanis in the Sindh province. Mujahideen, a rogue military, unislamic practices like involuntary labor, ragtag outfits made up foreign militia will do them in and further divide the country. As to BJP coming into power, it all depends as to how much the BJP can sustain the nationalism that was sweeping the country from Kargil conflict. If the BJP can sustain the momentum until the elections, BJP is assured of victory to form a Govt headed by Vajpayee. As to Sonia, she announced that she is joining the fray. I am sure that she will win the elections from the Nehru-Gandhi home base, but I doubt she will be the next Prime Minister of India. Her main election theme is that the present Indian Govt did not know and anticipate infiltration of Kargil by pakistani soldiers and Mujahideen, thereby leading to Kargil conflict and death of Indian soldiers. This sounds more like an opportunistic stance developed to win the elections and that alone will not thrust her into Prime ministership. There is no ideology, no party platform, & no future plans for the country. Congress party is actually destroying the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty by inducting the members in to a political process, which they have proven time and again they are not capable of. Nehru's socialism failed. Indira's undemocratic rule, unwise intrusion into Golden temple, and stupid deployment of Sikhs as her bodyguard got her killed. Rajiv's unsophisticated puerile handling of Tamil Tigers got him killed. Now Congress is inducting Sonia in to the election fray. What is in store for her? God save the country and Sonia. Mahatma Gandhi was right in stating that his role was that of a freedom fighter and not that of a politician. Mahatma's role ended as soon the country won freedom from UK |
