The company's president and chief executive officer, David Aftergood, has departed Canada late yesterday afternoon to participate in the launch ceremonies of the first ever on-line lottery in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Mr. Aftergood is leading a delegation, which includes Greg Smith, vice-president of Deloitte & Touche, financial advisers to AGS. Also expected to attend are John Beach, chief operating officer, and Frank Yavicoli, vice-president, international operations, Automated Wagering International Inc., a subsidiary of Anchor Gaming.
"The next couple of days will represent huge milestones for both AGS and AWI. For AGS, the corporation will have implemented its first ever on-line lottery system and AWI, Vietnam, represents its third international contract and its first ever in Asia," said David Aftergood, president and CEO of Applied Gaming Solutions of Canada Inc.
Mr. Aftergood's delegation arrive in Hanoi on Saturday, August 7, 1999, where Mr. Aftergood will participate in various media events including the first ticket on Monday, August 9, as well as participate in the first televised draw later that day.
