Fenway Appoints Resident Project Manager for Philippine Cement Projects
For Immediate Release: NEWPORT BEACH, CA. August 5, 1999 - FENWAY INTERNATIONAL INC. (FWIN-OTC BB) Fenway International Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Friedhelm Menzel as Resident General Manager, Philippine Cement Projects, effective August 1, 1999. Mr. Menzel educated in Germany, specialized in export marketing and linguistics. He was export marketing manager for a leading German garment manufacturer from 1962 to 1967 at which time he joined the German based multinational industrial corporation Krupp-Polysius AG, Germany, as Far East Sales Manager. From 1968 to 1994 Mr. Menzel focused on the building and supply of heavy equipment to clients in India, the Middle East and the Far East by Krupp-Polysius from their plants world-wide. From 1995 to July 1999 Mr. Menzel undertook a special assignment as General Manager of Krupp-Polysius' Philippine agent Marsson Industrial Inc. During this time he organized specialized affiliated companies with emphasis on cement equipment and other heavy industrial applications. Krupp-Polysius is one of the largest industrial equipment manufacturing companies in the world and will be the supplier of the equipment for both the Palawan and Negor cement plants. They are also involved in arranging the equipment financing and export credits required for the two projects. Mr. H. John Wilson, President of Fenway International Inc., said that the addition of Mr. Menzel to the Fenway management team would provide the technical and management skills required to develop the projects and would complement the existing management who have developed the projects to their present state. Mr. Menzel joins Fenway's Philippine staff immediately at the Ortigas Center, Pasig City office in The Philippines. Fenway is the lead proponent in the development, construction and operation of the 2.5 million tonne per year Palawan Cement Project and the 1.5 million tonne per year Negros Oriental Cement Project.
