J-Bird Music Group LTD Announces Distribution Agreement for New Interactive Music Software Application
U-Play Music!... No Lessons Required Developed by Hotz Interactive Set to be Distributed by J-Bird Through the Navarre Corp.
WILTON, Conn., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- J-Bird Records (OTC Bullettin Board: JBRD) announced today a distribution agreement with the premiere interactive music technology company, Hotz Interactive. The new software title, U-Play Music!... no lessons required, a CD-ROM software application that turns the PC into a musical instrument anyone can play, will be distributed through J-Bird's existing distribution agreement with the Navarre Corporation.
Featuring over 40 songs in 20 different styles, users can choose from styles such as rock, rap, classical, reggae, jazz and many others. The application features an intuitive interface with an interactive keyboard and notation screen that allows access to over 120 different instruments. Also included is a 16-channel recording studio for more advanced activities like re-mixing and rearranging performances. People can record, overdub and save their performances in small data files, which can easily be placed on their web site or emailed to friends for collaboration.
Bundled with the U-Play software application is a 3-song audio CD collection from J-Bird Records that showcases U-Play's unique feature that enables people to creatively play along with standard, off-the-shelf audio CDs. This feature will be augmented on the Hotz Interactive web site (http://www.hotz.com) as new CD play-along titles become available.
''With U-Play Music, enthusiasts can now enjoy music in a whole new dimension by 'performing in the band with the artist,''' said Chuck Abronson, CEO of Hotz Interactive. ''Using just the PC's standard keyboard and a little inspiration, you'll always be in tune with U-Play Music.''
''This distribution agreement is another step in J-Birds development as a lateral growth company that envelops all facets of entertainment media. Having U-Pay distributed by one of the countries leading software distributors, Navarre, and bundled with J-Bird Proprietary music re-enforces our philosophy of content development,'' said Jay Barbieri President & CEO J-Bird Music Group LTD.
U-Play Music is set for an in-store release date of August 24, 1999.
