Mike, you don't make it easy. The next thing I know you will be asking me to think for myself. Amid all the discussion on the board it is very difficult to not get attracted to specific companies because that is what most people talk about. For me, Investigation of those companies leads to more insight into the categories.

As to which category, I am looking for some guidance. I have no direct knowledge of the value of some of the technologies of most of the candidate companies. so it is very difficult for me to sort the hype from the real solid enabling technologies. I guess I understand the application side of the business somewhat better because I can see how it is used. Once the foundation technologies get to the latter stages of the tornado and on main street and become household names, you don't necessarily have to understand them, just recognize that lots of people want or need them.

On market size estimates, once again it is hard for me to sort out the opinions from facts and self serving hype from knowledgeable insight.

I run a very small oilfield rental tool company and as such do not get a lot of exposure to the cutting edge things that much larger companies are implementing. That is one of the reasons I find discussion and the information available from SI beneficial. Having said that I have not found all of the opinions or information to be of equal value and have chased a few shiny pebbles to my detriment.
