there you go bringing up religion again... sheesh, you'd really think you had a problem with it or something... but I digress.

"Obviously, they have been right more often than they were wrong!" ... um, no, just plain not a fact... but I have conceded that they are right more often than chance would allow. But guessing with a guide is still guessing. And that my dear Richnorth is my point.

And don't get me wrong, I never said astrology is a stupid science. Silly maybe, but not stupid. I do KNOW that there are a LOT of stupid astrologers out there, however. And this is pretty much the difference between what I've been typing and you've been reading.

I have not forgotten about the failing of "my" professors, I only pointed out that the top five failing professors beat your top one failing astrologer. (and I wonder where your second one placed in the rankings)

...and if you don't mean to imply something like NASA uses starcharts for astrology, why in the world would you put it in the following context "? In addition to doing standard calculations, he uses a star table or ephemeris to obtain the positions of the heavenly bodies. (Even NASA uses such a table!!!) He then studies the placements and aspects of the planets etc. "... if that doesn't imply that NASA uses it for the same purposes I don't know what would. But then we both now know that you didn't mean to imply it was so, you just added a hasty reference which had nothing to do with your argument. no biggie. I do it too.

"Unfortunately, there are not enough "maouses" in the world and not enough of the type of "professors" that can make "better" predictions!!!" - I would note that there ARE more professors that could make better predictions and THAT IS MY POINT!!!

"How lucky for those blessed astrologers to be still in business!!! " - when their predictions are largely just better than average guesswork, yes it is LUCKY!

"All these misinterpretations/misperceptions only go to show your ..." oh please don't stop here, I mean I started with the namecalling monkey boy... And I don't think either of us is as intellectually challenged as the other would believe them to be.

MY ILK.... now that's a interesting concept. pray tell, what do you think "my ilk" is anyway? Let me guess - predict - what you're gonna say: Bible-thumping holy roller with a cross on his chest and chip on his shoulder...

that would be annoying, no, much to your amusement let me tell you about myself a little:
I started out as a jock-nerd. Read a lot in highschool, ran track and cross-country, wrestled two years as well. I was involved with computers since the age of 11 when my father brought home a portable (one of the VERY first) pc. I've enjoyed a modicum of geekdom and less athleticism since graduating and going to college for fine arts(and I would note a LOT of painters were astrologers). I have been actively involved in my Church since I left home and got work. An interesting note that you may find to be an oxymoron, but which I have no problem with, is that I am a Mason as well as a Catholic. I am pretty much a freethinker when it comes to the topic of Religion (because who can say other than with Faith that THEY are correct). My wife believes in the mysticism in astronomy, crystals, palm reading and fortune telling. I prefer to know about cold reading, history and physics. In addition to books on Astrology & Astonomy, I am a religious Stargazer fan (as I said I prefer Astonomy). Once again pointing to the geekdom I exhibit. And although I do pray daily I would typically not bother to pray for those who do not wish to be helped, because much like a beat red-headed step-child, they often fail to see what is bad for them is what they love also. And prayers can't change that...

I would note that I am all of this and much more, so if you would like to infer that I am ignorant or otherwise intellectually challenged I would have to not concur.

I never particularly said that astrology was ungodly (although that is in the Bible, but then you knew that). I have simply been stating that it is an inexact science at best. Now if you can just deal with that FACT, we could perhaps talk about how "right-on" or "right-off" all of the best Astrologers typically are. I would note that they are the best because they are right a lot, they are not right a lot because they are the best. And this is probably where our thinking diverges on this topic...
