Tom,
I have nothing to back this up, just a hunch that USRX is having a great quarter.
Can't argue with that.
I saw that USRX has 100 ISP(whatever that means) that support the new 56K.
It means Internet Service Provider, and it was over 400 the last time I looked.
However, I live in Dallas and there are none here.
Dallas, as in Yankee land (as viewed from Houston)? I think you should look around more, 'cause I'm sure that there are ISPs in Dallas who either are or will be offering x2.
My internet supplier said they were going to wait to see who sets the standard before investing the money in the equiptment.
If you read my earlier post, you know that's their way of saying that they don't use USR equipment, but are too ashamed to admit it.
He added USRX's modem had lots of bugs.
And how excatly would he know that if he hasn't invested in any of their equipment?
It sounded like he was rooting against ROBOT.
Undoubtedly, since he will be losing customers to his ROBOT based competitors.
I also read that LU has over 500 ISP.
Don't believe everything you read, especially as it pertains to Consortium claims.
Is Robot that far behind?
Haw can anyone say they are behind when that have working products in the field, and the competition doesn't?
I don't understand.
That's accurate.
Robot may be making a mistake in trying to be the one and only standard.
They are just marketing the only working 56k solution available today.
With people worrying about price, everyone is looking for something to clone at a discount.
And USR receives a cash royalty for each clone sold.
If LU or ROK get it together, and at a cheaper price, Robot will be in trouble and instead of gaining market share they will lose market share.
Heavy on the if.
Ask Apple how it works trying to be the one and only computer. When they were far, far ahead of their competition, it was okay.
That's a real stretch of the imagination.
Last thing, 3Com announced they are building a 75 mil headquarters on the east coast.
Uh, the last time I looked, California was on the left coast, unless that comet hit it and blasted over to the east coast. |
