Leman

there are two basic ways

1. the easy way out
go sell the patent to a company....not much $$$ there

2. the hard but profitable way
catch hold of a "smart cookie" who will handle financial stuff /
marketing ..etc
draw up a detailed business plan as to how the machine/technique is better than present stuff....with some business projections of revenues

at most universities they usually have books which contain names of
venture capitalists, seed capital suppliers, very rich people = "white angels"
the silicon valley has quite a few of the above who are into funding
technology and biotechnology/medical ventures

being a neurologist...I bet he has some big connections who will fund him...he may need to plough in some $$ of his own also

the basic idea is
he is trying to sell an IPO to some selected individuals

your best bet at locating these individuals or firms is
1. web search....only names..u will not know whether they are good or bad
2. contact a financial advisor who handles accounts for high net worth individuals...quite a few are doctors
3. local phone directories..just names again
4. contact companies in similar field
if u dig a little u may find who funded them before IPO
or current instituional holders from vickers report
try looking for small never heard names

best of luck....do let us know when he hits the jackpot
