Jozef, relative to their size, VIA has been spending major money to lock up the low-end CPU market. If I recall correctly, Centaur had some patents that reportedly permitted them to bypass the dreaded Intel cross-license requirement. Perhaps they dream of redesigning the CYRX chips and then produce them in the lowest-cost fabs. It should be interesting to watch the evolution of VIA's CPU strategy.
